Who we are & what we do
Hey there! We’re Owl & Oak. The social-emotional learning-conscious creator behind The Moodies.
The Moodies were designed in collaboration with early childhood development experts. They are Social Emotional Learning Toys that enable your child to navigate the complexities of their growing emotions without the need for big words.
They are cuddly toys with a build-in book on the back that tell playful stories about different emotions. They encourage open discussion between children and their families to build a bond of communication, teach empathy and emphasize that all feelings deserve a space to be shared.Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be and embrace who you are.

Who we do it for
At Owl & Oak, we don’t believe in perfecting parenting. We believe in you - in all your messy, vulnerable and daring glory. Every parent is different, and Cookie cutters belong in the kitchen.
Whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, black or white; gay, straight, a trail-blazer, or a torch-bearer, we all have one thing in common. We’re here to show up and celebrate that our imperfections are not inadequacies. They’re reminders we’re all in this together and that we’re humans first and parents second.
We want you to know it’s okay to be scared and uncertain, to fall and get back up and to be a toilet paper-over rather than toilet paper-under kind of person. That it’s normal to know exactly what you want but have zero idea how to get there. That we’re still learning as much about ourselves and the world every day as our babies. We’re here to give you the confidence to embrace it all regardless of who’s watching – snuggles and struggles alike.
How we do it
At Owl & Oak, the heartbeat of our work centers around social and emotional learning. We created The Moodies to help caretakers and children learn how to foster knowledge, skills, and attitudes across five focus areas of social and emotional competence including Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Responsible Decision-Making, Relationship Skills, and Social Awareness.
We believe in rising by lifting others! That's why we created the give-back program where we donate a portion of each purchase to carefully selected charities close to home to ensure that your money goes directly towards making the biggest impact on the lives of the parents, children, and families who need it the most.
